Halloween FHE

For Family Home Evening we had a fun Halloween Dinner! Morgan has been wanting to use our new Halloween plates and serve this dinner for weeks! With a BUSY week ahead of us (homework projects, Morg's Bday, & the holiday) we decided to have our fun "kid" dinner last night. We served warm soup with cheese shaped into a leaf:
Hot Dogs wrapped in bread stick dough to resemble Mummies:

Witches Fingers and orange jello:

And yummy homemade Root beer!We invited our friends the McKagues over for dinner. I told them that it wouldn't be a gourmet meal but we would have fun! Jon's idea was to serve Fondue for dessert! It turned out soooo good. We all got filled up on chocolate and carmel fondue!Even Madelyn loved the fondue. Her favorite was the chocolate dipped strawberries, pineapple, bananas, and marshmallows!A fun time was had by ALL! (Sorry about the blurry pictures I realized today that some one's little fingers found my camera lens!)

"Sorry about the blurry pictures"
and here I thought you had some fancy "soft focus" lens on your camera. Not a bad effect.

How did we ever manage to celebrate Halloween with just a simple costume out of the "dress up trunk" and a few hours of trick-or-treating? I'm amazed at the clever ideas you have for making fun and creating family memories. We're hving the elders for dinner on Halloween night and one of the elders is celebrating Halloween for the first time--he's from Mongolia!I hope to use some of your ideas!

How fun! You are so creative and on top of it. By the time i think that i need to do something fun like that, it is too late. I'll get on top of it one of these days.

Have a fun and spoky evening. My daughter is dressed as Hermionefrom Harry Potter and has dressed her American Girl Doll just the same.
