Track Meet!!

Two weeks ago my girls competed in their school track meet.  This was Brooklyn's third and last track meet and Brinley's first one!  They were both very excited for the track season and especially for the meet.  At their elementary school they practice once a week for 5 weeks and then have one large track meet competing against three other schools in the district.  Some pictures of them before the meet began with their friends: Brinley and her two besties
Rachel Zundel and Kennedy Lake.  And Brooklyn with some of her friends Emily, Shelby, and Cassidy..

Brinley competed in three events:  the 100 meter, 200 meter, and standing long jump!  She is a fast little runner and got first place in both!  My friend Tiffany Reid emailed me this shot she took of Brinley!  I love this picture and I'm mad at myself for not bringing my zoom lens after seeing this!

They have several heats of each race so she didn't race against her BFF's hence... they ended up all placing first in their individual heats!  They were ecstatic!!

Brooklyn also had a great meet.   She truly loves to run and is always trying to find someone to run with:  friends, siblings, or myself!  She can run circles around me and I think this just might be her "thing".  She competed in several races: 100, 200, hurdles, 400 and a relay team!  She finished first in every race except for the relay!  Her coach talked her into racing in the 400 meter just that day!  She had only practiced that distance once and won her heat easily!!

When she got home after the meet she went up to her room and gathered all her ribbons from previous meets!  She was excited to see that most of them were blue!  They both had a fun day and I think we will have several more of these to attend in the future!
Congrats Brooklyn and Brinley!

Yeah! The blog is back. Those two runners make me proud! I was a good runner once and think it's great exercise. To win blue ribbons makes it even better! Congrats Brooklyn and Brinley!
