I couldn't pass up the photo opp! We have just been enjoying our "Indian Summer" weather this week. How come chubby buns are cute on babies and not mommies? All I know is I love those baby buns!

Brooklyn turned seven on September 1. She was born in the year 2000. I thought it would be cool to have a baby in the year 2000. Luckily we had a sweet baby girl. I fell in love with the name Brooklyn two years before she was born, and we were blessed with another girl! Brooklyn is a very sweet and independent girl. I think she gets that because she's stuck in the middle of our family. She is a very hard worker! Jon and I are always amazed at the things she does sometimes. For example, the other day I was at a soccer tournament with Mason and Jon was a Home Depot. Morgan was babysitting the three little girls. She called to tell me that Maddie pooped and took off her diaper. She was freaking out and didn't know what to do. I told her to get Brooklyn to help her. When I got home 10 minutes later, Brooklyn had bathed Maddie and was getting her dressed. She is my best little worker. She loves to play pollies and american girl dolls, but also loves to ride her bike, scooter, and she will soon master her new heelies! She informed me that she didn't want to buy anything pink when we went shopping for school clothes (even though her room is full of that color) She ended up buying the cutest blue and camo converse shoes. She's a great big sister and plays well with Brinley & Maddie. Mason and her love to tease each other but have a common interest now since she got a Nintendo DS for her birthday. She's a great little girl and I can't believe that she will be starting first grade tomorrow! We love you Brooklyn & are so glad that you're in our family.

Hooray for Computers!
I'm very glad to announce that we finally have our computer up an running! I've had it for about two days now but this has been my first opportunity to blog! It's been four weeks today since we disconnected our computer. I never thought that I was so dependent on modern technology but that's a long time!!! We also finally have our dish hooked up and enjoyed watching TV on our new 52" flat screen. The whole time I was gone at mutual tonight I think my whole family was glued to our new toy! All we need now is our morning paper and we'll be set!

Sweet Sixteen (NOT)
It's been sixteen days since I have posted anything on my blog. I have nothing exciting to announce, and of course no pictures but lots has been going on. I will highlight 16 events that have happened in the past 16 days.
1. cleaned my old house with several friends & young women
2. handed over my keys to the new owners and kind of felt sad
3. had the new owners over for dinner last Sunday (the mom introduced herself in Sunday school that day with her name and then said I'm the person that bought their house, we were sitting with her!)
4. Made several target runs that included spending nothing short of $50 each visit!
5. stayed up until 2am one night hanging all my blinds with Jon
6. not one broken nail with all that moving and cleaning (Temple would be proud!)
7. mopped my floor twice already in just two weeks (they are very dark and harder to keep clean, what have I gotten myself into)
8. signed my kids up for another round of swimming lessons which means lots of runs back and forth to the gym!
9. got new bedroom furniture for myself and some of the kids rooms. everyone wants to sleep with mason on his new high bed (pictures later)
10. finally celebrated maddie's bday where aunt temple gave her 10 real frogs, (they were in their back yard and they caught them for her) Brooklyn immediately was attatched to them and when one died 3 days later she had a funeral for her little frog. CUTE!
11. went camping for three days, the kids had a blast!
12. spent one whole day getting ready for camping, (finding the camping boxes, food prep, boat prep, etc. etc!)
13. was very disappointed to find out that our boat that we've had absolutely no time to take out this summer didn't work! (we found this out after we hauled it to camping 2 1/2 hours away from home!)
14. purchased our new king size bed @ Costco on the way home from camping (we left early b/c we couldn't boat and spent money instead) Loved sleeping in such a big bed!!!
15. put my first nail hole in my new walls to hang a new clock!
16. started my school shopping today with two of the kiddos and more to come tomorrow
We still have lots to do in the house!!! I don't even have my computer set up yet. I'm at Jon's work right now doing this post at midnight!

Since Wednesday we have been working nonstop!!! It takes so much time to move, unpack, clean and everything that goes along with a move! Each night Jon and I have been averaging 4-5 hours of sleep. We've had so much help from friends, neighbors, and family. People have taken our children for us, had us over for dinners (I'm actually at a friends right now typing this post after she fed us a yummy dinner), helped us move, mowed our lawn, and are going to help us clean our old home this coming week. We are so grateful for great friends and family and can't express how much this help has been. We have a long way to go but we did spend our first night in our home last night. I have not moved my bathroom stuff yet, so this morning I had to walk across the street in my bathrobe to get everything for my shower. Hopefully in a week we'll be much more settled!

two girls and a yummy cake. They ate cake with us and then stayed another two hours to help us move. It was a very sweet gesture. It's a blessing to have great friends! And if you're wondering about Madelyn , she will get her special day next week!

My good friend just recently posted that her obsession last week was reading Harry Potter! My obsession these past two weeks has been all about moving! Packing, De-Junking, Cleaning, Running to the DI Trailer, and pretty much ignoring my poor children! This week is only going to be crazier with all the above plus my actual move and unpacking! Wish me luck! I hope to have the Harry Potter Obsession soon!!!

Our 16 Day Vacation!
We were gone to for 16 days and we're excited to be home! We did tons of fun things but I will only highlight one per day that we were gone!
Day 1, June 30, 2007: We left our house at about 9 am and only made it to Twin Falls, ID (an eight hour drive)

Morgan's been busy with lots of homework, track, and preparing for her ballet recital. She did find time two weeks ago to enjoy our beautiful weather and play with a friend. Mason is thrilled with the fact that he doesn't have anymore homework for the rest of

Happy Easter
I forgot to post these during easter time. The kids were not cooperating during pictures! We did get a few good ones. Morgan was a little sad that she didn't have a matching outfit with the other girls. I said to her " I didn't think that you wanted to be matching" She said I guess I am just getting old! It was a typical easter in the NW, kind of cold and dreary. The kids had fun getting candy and hunting for the eggs.

I have such a busy week. I have so many things that I need to do before we go on our vacation on Friday. I have a dentist appt, teaching, my first mutual night on Wed., Mas's pinewood derby on Thurs., appointments with my cabinet lady, and I need to pick/order tile. Plus the fact that I need to do everyone's laundry, write a will, pack for our trip, deep clean my house, and also find time to work out and watch all my shows. Jon is also extremely busy trying to get our house ready to be insulated while we are gone. This past week we have had all the rough electrical installed, a central vacuum installed, our garage floor poured, and the siding of the house began. What a crazy week. Next week on our cruise I won't know what to do with all my free time! Maybe sleep, eat, and relax!
The other day I plugged the disposal after Jon had left for work. I decided that I can fix it, I'd seen Jon do it several times. Well, I did kind of fix it. Although I had water and my ground up food spraying all over me and underneath my sink. After several screams and bowls of water I unplugged the drain. Well, I then struggled to get the goose neck portion of the pipe back on. I was so frustrated with it that I threw it across the room. I then told the kids that dad would have to fix it and NOT to use the kitchen sink. Well all day my kitchen sink sat full of dirty dishes. Jon finally got home and easily fixed the sink. I then started to do the dishes. Brooklyn, Brinley and Mason all commented on how great dad is and how he can fix anything! It's a good thing that he's around because mom can't do the things that dad can do. Our dad can do just about anything!

From March 25 until April 3 Carter and Makenna came to stay while their parents were in Hawaii. It was fun but quite hectic!!! Just three days into their stay Makenna started calling me Mommy. Brinley kept on informing her that I was NOT her mom! Madelyn I think got jealous. It was just great when I had both of them crying at my feet and both of them saying mommy to me. I felt like I had twins! It really and truly took me about three days to recover. One evening Jon and I took the kids to the park. It was HARD to watch all of them. That evening after everyone was in bed Jon said " wow having five is a breeze compared to seven!" Both Carter and Makenna are great kids and fun to have visit. They were both very excited to see their parents! Jon and I are looking forward to our trip when Monique has all of our kids. Good Luck Monique!

This was what Carter and Brinley called Ice Skating. They both put on socks and slide all over the hard wood floor. It has been kind of crazy for the past two days. Seven kids is tough! If I didn't have two 4 year olds that love to get into mischief, and two toddlers it wouldn't be that bad! I am definitely pooped by the end of the night and ready to hit the sack. Both Carter and Makenna have been great! Kenna was a little sad today because Maddie kept on pinching her cheek. Kenna finally fought back and Madelyn just sobbed. Tomorrow I am getting a baby sitter because I have to do a bunch of house stuff in the afternoon. I have already decided that I will probably pay her double what I usually pay. Morgan is leaving for 5th grade outdoor school for the next 3 days. I'm so sad because she is a great help and of course I'll miss her!

This past week the kids have said and done some fun and cute things that I want to remember. MASON said to me on day, "Mom do you think that Bill Gates has butlers and maids? I told him definately! He then asked how do you know? I told him that anyone that rich surely has extra help around the house. He then asked do we have a Million dollars? I said O, No but maybe someday!" For dinner on Monday night Jon made Tai food. He loves this type of food but only has it with friends or co-workers since I don't really like Tai. He was all excited to make it for us. Well it didn't go over too well. Morgan and I ate it, but the other kids just kind of picked at it and didn't like the meal at all. Brinley was the funniest about it though. We definatlely had leftovers and she kept on asking us if she had to eat the Yucky Leftovers? She was even scared to open the fridge because she might see the leftovers. So when Jon really did eat the leftovers she was freaking out, covering her face and almost crying at the sight of the leftovers. We have threatened her a couple times this week, you better eat your lunch or we'll give you the "leftovers". Brooklyn has no school tomorrow because of a teacher work day. She said "mom, I'm so glad that I don't have to go to school on Friday because I just want to kiss Maddie all day, I just love her!" Morgan's comment was from three weeks ago. She asked me how old dad was going to be on his birthday. I told her 39. She then said "Wow mom that's old", she then asked how old I was I told her 37. Morgan then said "O mom you are way younger than dad!" I love it when I hear that from the kids!

Mason Get's Glasses
Mason failed the eye exam at school this year so we needed to take him to the eye doctor. Well, sure enough he needed glasses! (what did we expect with both Jon and I with terrible vision!)He got his glasses two weeks ago and we just love them! Many people have told him that they love his glasses, you look just like you dad, and my friend told him that he even looked "Smoken" in them! All these comments have helped him get used to the idea of having glasses. His cousin Jefferson (5 yr) even said to his mom on SuperBowl Sunday. "Mom can I get some glasses like Mason at the Dollar Store?" He is being very responsible and protective of them and eventually wants to get contacts someday!
Yesterday Morgan was babysitting while Jon went hometeaching and I was at choir practice. I came home to find out that Maddie had thrown up while she was napping! Morgan got her out of her crib, stripped the sheets, stripped off Maddie's clothes, cleaned up the carpet, took the laundry downstairs, and put Madelyn in the bath tub. She was still in the tub when I arrived home. Morgan said that she washed her body, but not her hair because it had throw up in it. I thought to myself, hey she did a pretty good job for an eleven year old!!!

Nursery Memories! These pictures are from when Brinley and Carter graduated from Nursery and when Maddie started Nursery. Carter was in town for their last day of Nursery on December 31, 2006. Their teacher (Jewell Mayberry) made them these cute graduation caps. She also wrote this poem: I'll be a Sunbeam!
I'll be a Sunbeam starting next week,
I've been to primary and had a peek,
At what goes on there, and what the big kids do,And I want to be a part of it too.
I'm too grown up for Nursery now!
But while I have been here, I have learned how,
To share and play and stay in my chair,
So I will sit quietly while I am there,
"Jesus wants me for a sunbeam," so I will obey,
I'm off to sunbeams, I'm on my way!
She was a great teacher, and Brinley misses her!
She still is a little nervous about Sunbeams, but is getting better each week. Maddie's first day of Nursery was 2-11-07. She did really well! We have been visiting for the past 2 weeks to help her get used to it. She was a little sad at first and had to be held, but then once snack time came she got right to the table and enjoyed every minute of it! On the way home from church Morgan said "Mom I can't believe that Maddie is in nursery already!" , " it seems like you just had her, pretty soon she'll be in college!" WOW that is scary to think about, but we got a long ways until that happens so I'll enjoy every minute of these sweet little spirits that we were blessed to have!

Maddie's 18 Months!
I can't believe that she is already this old! Our sweet little surprise baby is growing up way too fast! She has recovered from her little foot accident and is walking everywhere. She just loves to walk from room to room, turn around, and try to walk away from us when we are chasing her. She is still wobbly and crawls occasionally.
She is such a doll! Everyone still loves to fight over her: who's going to get her from her crib, who wants to play with her, and especially who wants to give her the most kisses. She loves everyone in our family and Michelle at the kids club at the gym and that's about it! She is very shy and sometimes it's hard to get her to smile. The smile in this picture was pushing it!
